Favourites: Lush

I'm pretty sure every girl I know has been pulled into the warm and sweet smelling environment of Lush at one point or another in their lives.

Lush is a skincare and cosmetics company that sells a wide variety of handmade, specialty and natural products. Every product is ethically sourced and uses fresh and real ingredients, making them kind to your skin, the company is against animal testing, and the packaging is bare minimum and encouraged to be recycled, making them kind to the environment. The products are all amazing quality for a price that costs a little more than drugstore skincare, but definitely less than high end skincare, making them a great fit for many budgets.

I am sort of a Lush Junkie. I have tried more than half of the products within the store and from all my experiences I have compiled a list of some of my all time favourites.

1. Bath Bombs (From $4.50 to $10)

Come on, of course I had to mention them! These fizzy little balls make bath time fun again! They are packed with essential oils that will soften your skin and are full of crazy colours that will make your bath water look totally Instagram worthy. If you haven't tried them, I recommend you do because they're totally addicting.

2. Lip Scrubs ($10)

Suffer from dry and peeling lips? These little pots are the answer to all of your needs. Take a little bit and rub it on your lips to get rid of all the dry skin and make your lips feel super smooth. From bubblegum to buttered popcorn theres guaranteed to be a flavour you'll love!

3. Skin Drink Facial Moisturizer ($25)

Does the winter cold have your skin feeling tight and ridiculously dry? My skin actually peels sometimes in the winter due to extreme dryness. But ever since I got one of these I don't have to worry about it anymore. With rose extract, avocado and aloe it soothes and moisturizes skin, leaving it soft and hydrated, even in the driest of months. (Downfall; it doesn't smell the greatest, but you'll get passed it once you realize how well it works).

4. Breathe of Fresh Air Toner ($22)

Formulated without alcohol, this toner will leave your skin feeling soft and refreshed rather than dried out. With sea salt, aloe and rose it calms redness and hydrates skin and it smells great too! Give yourself a spritz to refresh your skin throughout the day or soak a cotton pad and distribute it evenly as a part of your skincare routine. You'll love it. I can guarantee that.

5. Cup O' Coffee Mask ($11)

I wouldn't consider this a mask as much as I would an exfoliator. With the fresh scent of coffee grounds it will wake you, and your skin, up. This mask gets right into your pores and scrubs away dirt and impurities, not to mention it doesn't contain synthetic micro beads like most exfoliators so it won't harm your skin. I have purchased and repurchased and will continue to repurchase for many years to come.

6. Fresh Face Masks ($9 to $12)

In terms of masks Lush's array of fresh face masks are fit for any skin problem. Have acne and oil issues? Try Cupcake or Cosmetic Warrior. Need soothing and hydration? Try Oatfix or Rosy Cheeks. Texture issues? Love Lettuce has you covered. Want to brighten or tighten? The Sacred Truth or Ayesha are right for you. These masks contain ingredients so fresh that you actually need to keep them in the fridge throughout their use. They are amazing for virtually any skin issue you may have.

7. Grease Lightning ($15)

Problem zits keeps popping up? Grease Lightning has got you covered. It calms irritated pimples and reduces them in size and redness. Just dab it on where you need it and watch the miracle happen!

8. Ocean Salt Body Scrub ($22 to $37)

Exfoliate dry skin in the shower with this body scrub. It smells like lime and is infused with coconut oil so its still gentle while getting all the dead skin off your body and leaving your skin smoother than ever!

9. Sympathy for the Skin Body Moisturizer ($30)

This cream will give skin exactly what it needs to feel hydrated. I've been complimented on my scent when I put this on in the summer as it smells like banana vanilla goodness, and it leaves my skin feeling softer and smoother than ever before.

Lush is ultimately a skincare lover's dream. It will fulfill any problem you may have and give you everything you are looking for. You can personalize a wholes skincare regime to cater specifically to your needs. With vegan and vegetarian options, as well as naturally and ethically sourced ingredients, Lush cosmetics and many of its products get big thumbs up from me.
